EnerWorks Inc. was formed in 1998 to build on work that had been started in the solar industry but needed to commercialize a novel way to use solar energy to heat water for homes and businesses. In 2011, local Business Owners Bill and Tony VanHaeren saw a business with potential, but that needed financial stability and leadership for success. Bill and Tony VanHaeren acquired EnerWorks, Inc in early 2011. This acquisition adds to their already impressive business portfolio that includes several other Ontario companies.
The VanHaeren’s years of experience in the solar industry started with Proterra Solar, who is responsible for the largest solar thermal installation in Canada at Oxford Gardens, in Ontario. Alongside Proterra, Bill and Tony are partnered owners in Oxford Gardens. Additionally they are owners of Uvalux Tanning & Support, also in Woodstock, Canada.
VanHaeren’s success with EnerWorks will be built on the strong foundation in business he has already established. EnerWorks has been in business for many years, and as they continue to grow in commercial and residential solar thermal applications, VanHaeren will utilize the amazing team he has put in place to lead this up and coming company.
During his spare time, VanHaeren enjoys fishing, spending time with his family and volunteering. VanHaeren is dedicated to Friends of the Orphans, Canada and visits South American countries several times a year, building orphanages and schools.
