Project Overview:
This system was installed on an existing dairy barn to preheat domestic hot water for the 2, 227- liter (60-gallon) electric water heaters. Because of the frequency of electricity interruptions a larger expansion tank was installed to take up the expansion as the system steamed the liquid out of the manifolds. The capacity of the 2, 120-gallon preheat tanks allows for storage of hot water from the previous day. All-around performance of the system year round as well as a fast return on investment made the purchasing this system a logical move.
