Project Overview:

The Drake Landing Solar Community is a 52-home subdivision that uses the sun’s energy to supply 90% of space-heating and up to 60% of domestic hot water needs, preserving precious natural resources. The system uses 800 Enerworks Premier collectors mounted on roofs of detached garages in conjunction with seasonal storage (144 boreholes, reaching depths of 115ft) to store the sun’s energy during the summer, and distribute heat to the homes in winter as needed. In addition, a 2-collector solar water heating Spectrum Pre-Heat Appliance is installed on each home (104 Enerworks Heat Safe collectors) to provide solar hot water year-round. Each home within the community produces four and a halt fewer tons of green house emission than a conventional home.
