Our
Origins
Founded in 1998, Enerworks was created to harness the growing potential of solar energy to make a real environmental impact. Partnering with Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, we pioneered innovative solar water heating solutions for homes and businesses. From the start, our focus was on creating systems that were not only effective but also easy for homeowners and businesses to install and manage.
Industry Leadership
& Recognition
Enerworks quickly became a leader in the Solar Thermal industry. In 2006, we were the first North American solar thermal manufacturer to earn the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification. That same year, our systems received the U.S. Solar Rating and Certification Corporation’s SRCC OG-100 certification, achieving the highest per-unit energy rating among certified technologies.
Growth
& Innovation
In 2011, Enerworks merged with Proterra Solar, a leading supplier of vacuum tube solar thermal collectors across North America. Proterra’s high-performance German-made NARVA tubes helped set the standard for energy efficiency and performance, including the largest solar heating and cooling installation in Canada. Later, becoming part of a broader group of companies provided Enerworks with financial stability and leadership resources, fueling further innovation and growth.
